HP pavilion dv2315nr WIFI drivers for Windows XP

I’ve seen, thanks to Google Analytics, that a lot of visitors of my blog are looking desperately for the windows XP wireless drivers for their dv2315nr.

Sadly HP does not provide XP drivers for this laptop, or you have to install a software that will do everything for you (beurk!!!).
But they are using the same wireless card than Dell (It even appears as a dell wireless 1390 wlan mini-card in Linux), and they’re providing XP drivers!!!

I didn’t do it myself but it should works this way:

1- Download the driver file here
(If you prefer you can download the dell package here but you’ll have to extract it)

2- On Windows:
Start/All Programs/
Right-click on My Computer/Properties
Go to the Hardware tab
Click on Device Manager

3- On the Device Manager Window there might be a line about a wireless card with a yellow question mark
Right click on it
Choose install driver
Follow the instructions and Browse to the bcmwl5.inf file when asked

And it should works!!!

As I said before I did not try myself, so please let me know if it works or not

hi, i’m looking for sound and video driver for windows XP, for my hp pavilion dv2315nr, please tell where can i find them?

Hi Gerson,
I don’t have the laptop with me but as long as I remember they’re both nvidia products.
For the video try the normal graphic drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.html
For the sound maybe those one will work: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_audio_4.62_win2kxp.html

hi…same laptop…hp Pavillion dv2315nr and I am having problems finding the wired lan driver for Windows XP. I just downgraded my laptop and have been happy since, other than when I don’t have wireless access…The RJ-45 port lights up when I plug a cable into it and the network adapters available are the 1394 net adapter and the broadcom w/lan…if anyone can help me with the drivers I need to get that port to work I will be ever thankful.
